The Office of the Auditor General of Ontario tabled this critical audit in December 2025, garnering significant media attention. Shelley Spence was appointed Auditor General of Ontario in January 2024 for a 10-year term. A Chartered Professional Accountant with more than 30 years of experience, she has held senior roles in audit, oversight, and governance across the public sector. Prior to her appointment, she was a partner at Deloitte, leading work in the government and public service assurance practice, and earlier ran her own accounting firm for two decades. 

Gigi Yip is an Audit Director at the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario and a Chartered Professional Accountant. She has extensive experience leading performance audits across a range of government programs.
