Denise Hanrahan was appointed for a 10-year term as Auditor General on April 22, 2021. Prior to her appointment as Auditor General, Ms. Hanrahan served in the provincial public service for twenty years, including as the Secretary to the Treasury Board and Deputy Minister of Finance.
Ms. Hanrahan holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration degrees from Memorial University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She has completed a Master’s Certificate in Project Management through York University’s School of Business. She also completed the Directors Education Program through the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and obtained her director designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. She currently participates in the Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors, is a member of the Board of the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation and is a member of the Audit Advisory Committee of UNICEF.
